Getting used to this Blogging lark & pressed the wrong button by mistake which published the last post before I had finished editing it!
Hence it probably doesnt ACTUALLY explain anything!!

I am planning to use my extensive cookbook collection and obsession at last.
My plan is to cook something I havent cooked before and post the details of my efforts on here,
We will see whether the celeb chefs recipes actually work, I mean we've all heard about Jamies 30 minute meals that take 1 hour! (One book I didn't buy actually!)

Hopefully I will expand my culinary horizons (and possibly my waistline!) as I trawl my way through my ever expanding collection of recipes!

Delicious

Last week I went into a well known book shop with the intent purpose of buying 'The Dukan Diet' (another futile attempt to lose a few pounds!!)
I came out with 'The Dukan Diet' and 'Cake Days' by the Hummingbird Bakery. The irony that I had bought a diet book and a book full of tempting treats was not lost on me, however in my defence, it was lunchtime & I was starving!
Needless to say, I have leafed through the Bakery book, but the Dukan Diet hasn't even come out of the carrier bag!

It was when I added Cake Days to the shelf of cookery books in my kitchen that it hit me.......I have a LOT of cookery books, but how often do I ACTUALLY cook anything using them? The answer would be not very often.

What a waste! I have Nigella, Jamie, Delia. I have Gordon Ramsey & Tana Ramsey. I've got Rick Stein's Far Eastern Odyessy, Jamies Italian, Nigella's Christmas, Delia's Christmas, James Martins Desserts & Green & Black's Chocolate Cookbook. Ive got books on cooking fast food, slow cooking, pies, tangines, casseroles and stir frys. And I can't even begin to count the number of books on how to create the perfect cupcake!

All that knowledge and expertise at my fingertips. All those tempting recipes I havent tried. I realised then that I am addicted to cookbooks. A cookbook junkie.
Maybe not quite as addicted as Nancy who admits to having over 500 cookbooks (eek) even one by Vincent Price!
